Adela Hanafi
President CONIL Association
“Each of us has a unique part to play in the healing of the world”, Marianne Williamson once said, and no one embodies this sentiment quite like Adela Hanafi.
Adela Hanafi’s dedication shines through her commitment to a vision: to provide children with a safe, inclusive space where they feel appreciated and loved regardless of disabilities, class, culture, religion, or race. Her speech at the 10th edition of H.E.A.R.T. will not only share her life’s story but also delve into the narrative of her business, which transcends mere professional success—it is a transformative journey that has touched the lives of hundreds.
Adela’s upbringing in a family filled with empathy and sensitivity instilled in her a deep-seated desire to uplift those marginalised or facing challenges. While pursuing her degree studying Business Administration in Cairo, she had her first encounter with children with special needs. She discovered her innate pedagogical abilities and realised her true calling lays in supporting and advocating for children with disabilities.
In 2007, she established the CONIL Association, driven by a vision to provide an inclusive educational environment for children with special needs, inspired by her son, Kuky. With perseverance, she transformed a humble initiative into a thriving community serving over 300 children, emphasising diversity and fostering an accepting environment for all: three preschools, a school that is part of the UNESCO Associated Schools Network, an After-school, and a recovery centre.
Join us in embracing the chain reaction of compassion and empowerment, as we pave the way for a brighter, more understanding future for all.
