“Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood.” -Marie Curie

Dr. Carmen Pantiș, an expert in intensive care and transplantation medicine, will demystify the enigma surrounding brain death, its identification, maintenance, and declaration while addressing Romania’s cautious stance towards transplantation. Her talk will unveil organ and tissue donation’s vital role in saving and enhancing lives, often in dire and urgent circumstances.

Dr. Carmen Pantiș, an alumna of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy ”Iuliu Hațieganu” in Cluj-Napoca, earned her PhD in Pharmacology, augmenting her knowledge with courses in transplantation and GLS in Florence, Barcelona, and San Diego. Dr. Pantiș’s commitment to advancing medical education was furthered through her journey from a teaching assistant to her current role as an Anesthesia and ICU associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy in Oradea. This dedication to teaching is harmoniously combined with her scientific activity, evident in numerous ISI articles, lectures, and papers presented at national, European, and world congresses.

Our speaker’s contributions to transplant medicine have been recognised globally, culminating in the prestigious “Women in Transplantation Unsung Hero Award” at the World Congress of Transplantation in Madrid, in 2018. She holds esteemed positions in the Romanian Society of Anaesthesia, the European Society of Organ Transplantation, and the World Society of Transplantation, alongside her role as President of the Bihor College of Physicians and representation of Bihor County in the RMC National Council.

Join us at the 10th edition of H.E.A.R.T., where Dr. Carmen Pantiș will impart her knowledge and compassion, igniting a chain reaction of awareness and altruism.
