Ciprian Tomuleasa

MD PhD
Primary care Doctor in Haematology, “Ion Chiricuta” Oncological Institute
Medfuture Research Center for Advanced Medicine/Haematology

Dr. Ciprian Tomuleasa, having multiple years of immersive experience in basic and translational research in oncology and haematology, will delve into the intricacies of translational and clinical research and shed light on how medical data can be translated into direct benefits for human health. Through his speech, medical research’s pivotal role in advancing healthcare and improving patient outcomes will inspire us to look deeper into the realm of scientific inquiry.

Dr. Tomuleasa’s interest in biomedical research ignited during his 4th year of medical school in Cluj Napoca, leading him to become the first in Romania to successfully isolate a sub-population of malignant cells with stem-like properties from hepatocellular carcinoma. Our speaker continued his education at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, USA, for his postdoctoral training in internal medicine and at MD Anderson Cancer Center, USA, for his stem cell transplantation training. Presently, he follows his two passions for teaching and science through his roles as a scientific researcher at Medfuture and lecturer in Haematology.

From publishing his paper in the Journal of Gastrointestinal and Liver Diseases in 2009 to achieving a Hirsch index of 31, his contributions to medical literature are nothing short of impressive. Throughout his career, he has been recognised with prestigious awards, including the “Iuliu Hațieganu” Award for the best PhD thesis and the opportunity to represent Romania at the 2014 Lindau Nobel Prize Laureate Meeting.

Embark on a journey with Dr. Ciprian Tomuleasa at this year’s edition of the H.E.A.R.T. Conference to uncover the heart of healing and ignite a chain reaction of innovation.
