“Be the change you wish to see in the world” – Mahatma Gandhi

How does the role of sports and a focused lifestyle help in a medic’s life?  Fitness shouldn’t be just a hobby—it should be the cornerstone of our ability to care for others as well as ourselves.

To explore this subject, we are welcoming Dr. Emeka Okorocha at HEART 2025. His speech will highlight how embracing an active lifestyle and the discipline it requires can build resilience, enabling doctors to navigate the demands of their profession with strength and clarity, ultimately enhancing patient care.

He is a frontline NHS doctor, working in Accident and Emergency, in hospitals across East London and Kent, TV medic, an author, and a TikTok content creator. His first appearance on our TV screens was on BBC’s Junior Doctors series, and he is a regular guest on TV and radio across the globe.  Blending his passion for fitness and content creation, he was named one of the UK’s top ten TikTok educators and became the face of a nationwide campaign called “It Starts on TikTok”.

Doctor Emeka who has an unique, relatable and vibrant style, works with the British Government on a variety of health campaigns and is also well-known for producing inspiring, educational and entertaining social media videos on physical and mental health, well-being and mythbusting, which inspired him to write “Your Health in Your Hands” – his first book.

He is a passionate spokesperson on Black Lives Matter and his very poignant video, appealing to people to love him in his hoodie as well as in his scrubs, went viral and captured world-wide attention.
